We've
used Beverly on a number of cases and found that she was extremely
valuable. Her advice was practical and down to earth. It
was things that people could do. The results were that you'd have
an animal that would be a much better pet for you, and a dog that
was very safe.... With the cases that we worked on with Beverly,
we never had any repeat offenders, and we even had people call us
and write us thank you cards.... Beverly is a great asset
to the people of San Francisco. - Sergeant Bill Herndon,

Carmello
|
Carmello
(our pit bull) was terrorizing our family and friends. He had bitten
each of us several times. We were afraid we'd have to get rid of
him. We always had to put a leash and a muzzle
on him for walks and when we had visitors. Beverly was our last
resort. By the end of the first session, Carmello was jumping on
her lap and hugging and kissing her face! He never showed that kind
of affection to any of us! In just a few more sessions, Beverly
taught us how to establish our authority and control Carmello. By
the last lesson, he was walking with us without a muzzle and greeting
strangers with a wagging tail. We were amazed at
how well she worked with us and our dog. We are so grateful.
She saved Carmello's life. - Paula & Roberto

Maddie, the shy dog from Rocket Dog Rescue
|
I
have been fostering dogs for Rocketdog Rescue and was really stumped
by one loveable but completely frightened dog who was suffering
from extreme shyness and fear of people. I'd been
able to make Maddie comfortable with me but she was not making much
progress in other areas, like leash walking, housetraining, and
her general fear of other humans. Rocketdog's founder referred me
to Beverly Ulbrich, and in one week she had this sweet dog going
for walks, meeting and greeting strangers, sitting on command and
using the dog door. It was a miracle and testament to her passion
and commitment to understanding and training dogs--for which I am
extremely grateful. For this reason, I'd like to recommend her heartily
to anyone looking to train a new puppy, or newly adopted dog, or
just to learn more about how to problem solve with your existing
dog. - Lynnly, San Francisco |

Blizzard,
the deaf Milo Foundation Dog
|
Blizzard
is an Australian Cattle Dog - Husky - Siberian Mix. Alert to a certain
degree, bright and precocious - Blizzard is also DEAF.
He hears some sounds close up - but has little or no usable hearing.
His sight, and sensitivity levels are acute. He is eager and willing
and a great play buddy for another dog. He has a very happy way
about him. Gentle by nature and responsive to hand signals and visual
cues. He loves people and other dogs. Blizzard could learn sign
language - He has learned in less than an hour session
with trainer Beverly Ulbrich to sit, lay down and to give his paw!

Wayne & Riley |
My
dog would not stay off furniture or listen to my commands. He went
through puppy classes, and even advanced training classes, but nothing
worked at home. Beverly from the Pooch Coach was able to show me
how to communicate with Riley and better control him around the
house. Now he behaves exactly how I wanted! - W.

Beverly's
puppy training of our new pet was productive and
thorough. Beverly was excellent at explaining dog behavior to us
so we could understand why our puppy was doing different things.
She made it easy and enjoyable to train our puppy, and we
haven't had any problems with him since! - Jeff and Mike, San Francisco |

Sheena
was driving us crazy with her barking and nothing
seemed to work. We tried for over a year to fix it. Beverly was
able to work with us and, in 2 training sessions, get Sheena to
stop barking on command. Thanks for the peace & quiet, Bev!

Tigger (Rocket Dog Rescue) |
Tigger was a rescue dog and, at 3 years old, still acted like a
puppy. She had no training - she wasn't from this
country, so she didn't even know the English language. Beverly was
able to teach her all the basic commands - and even some tricks
- and house train her in just a few weeks. She also got her to calm
down and allow us to cuddle and pet her. She's like a new dog! -

Our
two dogs never got along very well. Eventually,
they were fighting almost all the time. We were afraid we'd have
to give up one of our babies. But Beverly worked with them and us
and, after just one session, had them behaving better then ever.
We met with her 2 more times, and now they get along perfectly!

Beverly
taught me how to get my dog to calm down so I can
take him in the car with me. He was uncontrollable, and I already
tried several other trainers, and he's even in an obedience class!

My
Pit Bull, Sam, was getting more and more aggressive towards
other dogs. I was afraid to even take him out for walks
anymore. After working with Beverly, first in my home and then at
a couple dog parks, Sam is a new dog! Beverly worked with both Sam
& me and showed me how to interact with him. I can now take
him everywhere I go and I have no problems with his behavior towards
other dogs. - Cheryl, Oakland, CA |
Truman |
I
hired Beverly to help me train Truman, our 9 month old Boston Terrier.
Since I have never had a dog before, the training was as much for
me as it was for Truman. Beverly has taught me how to take control,
know what is and what is not acceptable dog behavior and has been
an invaluable resource for advice when new/unknown situations
present themselves to me. And, while we did get some basic commands
down from Puppy Training classes, Truman now listens without having
treats be the only motivator. - Anne P, San Leandro |
Trixie |
I
moved from Austin, TX to San Francisco in March with my 9
year old Shih Tzu mix, Trixie. She did not know any commands
- not even "sit". After working with Beverly, just 4 months
later Trixie passed the AKC Canine
Good Citizen Test!! She comes, sits, downs, stays, walks off
leash and even knows some tricks too. She is a new dog.
She now plays with toys and with other dogs - something she never
did before in the 4 years I've had her. She has never been
happier or healthier, and neither have I! Thank goodness
for the Pooch Coach! - Kelli, San Francisco |
